Seasonal Field Carpenters, Installers, & Laborers (Traveling)

This is a seasonal position starting October and expected to end in December or January with potential for long-term, full-time employment.

We design and construct our climbing walls with a welded structural steel frame, three layers of sheeting material, and finally various forms of wood, from a structural plywood base up to highly aesthetic hardwoods you see on the surface. As part of our team we’d love you to have professional on-the-job construction training either as a jack-of-all-trades or an experienced rough/finish carpenter. Most shifts when traveling are M-F between 7am to 6pm and averaging 50 hours per week, but the ability to work weekends with overtime is crucial for project completion in many cases.

Most climbing gyms are in major cities, so this job is a great way to make money working on challenging projects, while traveling to different parts of the US. Housing is typically provided in Airbnbs, as quality of life is extremely important to our company culture. Although extended personal time is supported and encouraged, we have no shortage of work for capable people. We are looking for candidates with long-term potential on our team. Shop Carpenter

Operate woodworking machines such as band-saws, jointers, planers, and a variety of other machines and hand tools to cut and shape parts for stock, or to finish and assemble for various climbing gym construction projects. Responsible for performing manufacturing and production assembly tasks thoroughly and efficiently, while ensuring that your work meets set quality standards. 

Minimum of 2 years rough and finish carpentry experience is required & trade school experience is preferred.

Staff Accountant

This role will be responsible for assisting the CFO with business and financial analysis and processes across manufacturing, construction and climbing gym operations. This role will also support the day-to-day operations including maintaining a general ledger accounting system, various reporting and reconciliation projects, financial statements, month-end close & yearly audits. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of accounting experience, strong quantitative skills and a proven record of improving and implementing efficient processes.

QA/QC Specialist

Evaluate existing processes and design training systems to improve operations, improve onboarding and training for new hires, ensure quality control and develop best practices throughout the organization. This role will set up a training program in the Salt Lake City shop and travel on occasion to audit project sites across the U.S. to ensure our teams are building to set standards and are using a consistent, efficient process.

Must be organized, a minimum of 3 years manufacturing or construction experience, and the ability to enforce standard operating procedures to reduce errors and increase efficiency.

Pads Manager

We are looking for a Pads Manager who will coordinate Habit's pads production, manage shipping schedules, and manage daily duties of pad installers & sewing staff.  Other responsibilities include managing inventory, checking accuracy and quality of materials before packing and shipping, and evaluating and improving existing processes and systems.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in the manufacturing textile and/or sewing environment and will have the ability to read, to analyze, and interpret instructions, drawings, specifications, forms, and blueprints. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications a must (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)!

Weekend CNC Operator

We are looking for a CNC Operator to work the weekend shift to contribute to the design and fabrication of high-end indoor climbing gyms. Responsibilities include preparing and operating CNC routers to perform tasks such as drilling, driding, milling. etc. The CNC Operator must understand the specifications of the task at hand by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc. 

We are looking for someone with hands-on experience working on a production or manufacturing environment. 1-year CNC operating experience or equivalent education is required and proficient knowledge in Rhinoceros 3D preferred.  

This is a full-time position working four 10 hour shifts.

Structural Engineer, PE

Vertical Solutions takes enormous pride in our wall designs and structural integrity. We design indoor climbing walls that both inspire wonder and creativity while also providing exceptional utility. Making sure our designs are supported by detailed planning and robust materials is what has given Vertical Solutions its esteemed reputation. We are searching for a talented Structural Engineer that will take on the task of seeing these designs to fruition. The perfect candidate will be a licensed PE with a minimum of 5 years of related work experience. As the sole Structural Engineer for the company, candidates must have knowledge and ability to analyze and design according to codes, design criteria and structural theories.
